The new sticky bar at the top of the site is really pretty...

yeah, it disappeared for me too, although at least it was working fine for a few days before it vanished;).

I don’t believe so, I think its just having issues:).

It seems it currently only has problems with IE, the bar is still there under Firefox and Chrome.

Also, I’ve continued to do some work on the script Mheetu originally made (click for full resolution):

Yep, I just want to add, I find this thing annoying too. I already hate it when Windows changes the focus when I type in one window, but here you have a big fat bar popping into your view when you are concentrating on reading something and you have no interest whatsoever in that bar.
When I want to go to another section of your website, I have no problems going through a bookmark. Don’t try to “anticipate” what the user might want to do at some point and then pop in that nasty bar. People don’t like it, when programs take away their control. So let me click a bookmark in my browser when I want to switch from forum to answer hub. Don’t offer it to me when I don’t want it!

Are you arguing against a navbar in general? I use it to navigate the site, my bookmarks are for sites I want to come back later, not to navigate a website.

Currently the biggest issue I have with the navbar is that it’s too big. Also it’s sometimes annoying when scrolling a bit up to read a post and have the navbar block the view.
Maybe the navbar would work better when fixed at the top of the site? Add a “jump to top” button and people can quickly navigate without obstructing posts or similar.

Talking about the Top button, I noticed there is only one at the far bottom of the page, so I made myself a fixed one using Tampermonkey: https://github.com/Dakraid/UEGoToTop (direct install: https://github.com/Dakraid/UEGoToTop/raw/master/UEGTT.user.js)
Maybe someone else finds use in it as well.

A fixed bar would be better than the previous version. When you scroll down to read back on a site, it pops up and blocks the top of the site, it’s really annoying. Just a small thing but still. It was better before in my eyes but if it has to be there, rather fixed than dynamic

At the same time please have a look on the answerhub page: The bar on the top disappears, but doesn’t free the occupied space. Using Firefox 45.0.2.

Furthermore I’m only on a 1366x768 resolution screen, thus the far too big bar on the top hurts even more.

It’s pretty big but I’m also getting an issue where the text on the nav bar randomly switches between Chinese, Japanese and Korean for no reason.

Yes I have that too. Half of the time the top bar appears in Chinese then in english. I thought ctrl-F5 brings it back to english reliably but it does not. Sometimes it does, sometimes it does not.

Please epic, can’t we just remove this bar? It’s really annoying, it’s big, it pops in without my control and half of the time it’s chinese. Just add some fix links at the top of each page or so. I really don’t mind scrolling to the top of the page to click a link

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Never used uBlock before and it certainly got rid of that thing. It messes with my perception of the website and is REALLY distracting. It is horrible as it seems tied to the up scroll of the page with the browser. It really made pages harder to use.

I second that. Was using forum from the phone for a while today and clicked on the header invisible buttons like three times.
When you write anything in direct messages, browser zooms in and header gets stretched along the page as it tries to fit in. Fortunately it doesn’t happen with forum posts. But with messages it gets right on top of send message button. Very annoying.
