The Metahuman Animator Live Link Face app no longer works on iPhone

I bought an iPhone 13 to use Metahuman Animator Live Link Face app. It is not possible to record anything. The app tells you ‘please authorize use of the camera. Go to the device Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and enable Live Link Face.’

But the option to authorize Live Link does not appear in the iPhone settings. I am guessing that the Live Link Face app does not ask the iPhone to ‘request camera access’.

To make matters worse, two months ago Apple stopped us having the option to go back to iOS 16. So it looks like only Epic can solve this issue.

Can anyone help?

From Settings search Live Link Face, then grant the camera access, that’s it.

Thanks for your reply but sadly the app does not work on any iPhones running iOS17.

Have you tried today to use the Live Link Face on iPhone to record? Perhaps you granted the app ‘camera permission’ before they updated the iOS?

As far as my experience of installing the app onto an iPhone today, sadly it does not request camera permission and therefore the app does not appear in the settings as an option to ‘grant permission’.

Someone posted about this issue as a review on the iTunes site almost two months ago. Sadly they’ve not fixed it yet.

Staff replied and they’ve updated the app and it works. Need to reinstall the app to take effect.

It’s not working on Ipad 9th Gen OS 18.0.1, I go to the device Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera but enable Live Link Face doesn’t appear.

Please check that you are using the latest version of Live Link Face. If you’re still having issues please delete and re-install the application. Note that deleting the application will remove all recorded takes so be sure to export these first if you would like to preserve them.
