After transferring the project from 5.4 to 5.5, there were lags after which the material on the meshes turns black and if you go in and manually update the textures, they turn white. Tell me how to solve this or do I need to do everything again?
Find the textures related to the material in the asset browser, they will look black.
Right-click and choose ‘asset actions → reload’
Voila… I wish I knew why this was…
Hi, your method didn’t really help because after restarting the project everything turns black again.
So it did work initially?
That’s interesting, maybe it’s some sort of VRAM thing, I notice you have a lot of level object there…
What’s your GPU, VRAM?
Yes, everything worked on version 5.3 before, then I transferred everything to 5.4 and everything was fine, but this error appeared when I transferred the project from 5.4 to 5.5. It seems that the video card is not heavily loaded, unlike the memory, but it should not affect it that much.
I mean, did the black go away when you reloaded the texture?
It is only a 1660…
Can you click this bit
( currently the details are for memory )
yes, it disappeared, but the quality of the textures becomes blurry, and after restarting the project, everything needs to be updated again.
I assume that this lag is not due to the PC performance, because in this project I have 90 fps, but if I create another level and fill it with 4000 old towers, the fps drops significantly, the textures do not turn black.
Yes, you’re only using 50% VRAM.
I find ( and others ) that the system hitches for a second while playing, then I see black meshes…
Yes, that’s exactly what happens.
Someone from Epic picked this up in another thread, but assume it was only related to Megascans assets, which is not the case…
I used megascans as a landscape material and it seems that it was the first to turn black, after which I changed it to fab, but I did not delete the old megascans from the project.
