Anyone else having issues where, you go to FAB from inside your project, to grab one of your assets, but the asset you want isn’t showing up when you search your Library. So, open the Launcher, find your asset, cuz, it does exist and you do own it, and you try to add the asset - which, send you back to the FAB tab in your project. You then click to add the asset, but you can’t, it takes you back to the Launcher. You go to add your asset from the Launcher, and you get some error, that never seems to be listed when you look it up.
What is going on? Oh, wait, where’s all the UE engine versions I have installed? The Launcher doenn’t have a clue where they are all of a sudden.
Speaking of the Launcher, why does the Launcher want to be running in the background, always. So what? Well, it’s eating up like half my video RAM, while doing nothing but being open in the background?
I know I hit a few areas, respond to what you want as you please.
Should mention, most all engines I keep, but the most current UE engine, sits on a RAID server here in my place. Part of my issues I wonder has to do with my Vault and host of engines are not on computer local drives.
Regarding the Launcher using more resources than my video editing app use often, what is with that??? Does Epic think we all have hundreds of gigs of RAM and endless CPU cycles to serve on a plate for Epic Launcher to eat, while sitting in the background.
Just trying to understand this. And of course, any ideas how I might get the Launcher to remember where everything is stored.
Input also welcome on, FAB, and why is loses track of what’s in my library, that I need to take multiple round trips between it and the Launcher before I can get the dang asset(s) I’m looking for, that I own.
Really not experiencing anything thankful about FAB, tbh. How long before relationships fray? How long before the inevitable “We need to talk, partners, as we’re moving into another direction.”, rendering another change up to cope with.
