Hi guys i have very little in the way of content to show but from a standpoint of someone who has no story writing skills i would like to have an opinion on the basic premise of my game…
the very basics of it are as follows
10 years after the descent of the remainder of the worlds population into the bunkers scientists and engineers collaborate to build a robot army capable of returning to the surface and ridding the world of the walking dead . This plan may just work but as the number of the walking deceased began to decline. It was clear that the dead were starting to evolve into a more and more intelligent foe. You are ________ and you are the only zombie left. its your responsibility to survive and repopulate the earth with the infected good luck…
ok That is the very basics of the storyline and does not give much away regarding gameplay but this will consist of using stealth and cunning to sneak past the robot army . and survive for 1 year in order to be around when the bunkers open up and you can finaly reproduce by biting the humans …
im aware that this idea is quite terrible but its a game i have started that started out as a very simple android game and over time has (on paper) evolved into this . i am currntly using placeholders which are just very simple models i built in blender and the zombie is taken from mixamo … im also struggling with this project as im relatively new to unreal and also as of a few weeks ago a one man team so any help would be greatly appreciated guys … any volunteers lol ?
I reckoned my only concern with being human in this scenario, would be waiting for the Robots to become self-aware and start terminating the last of us. LOL. Anyways, sounds like a pretty cool and unique premise, so I say go for it. I’m not certain that Zombie Experts will appreciate an intelligent Zombie. What is the point of surviving, when you’re already undead? I like your idea of using placeholders, because you could effectively inverse this the characters of this story in which Humans were driven underground by the Robots, and the Scientist create a Zombie Army to reclaim the surface. A metaphor for the dead rising from the grave. The Matrix meets World War Z. Who knows.
hey thanks guys didn’t really expect to get any replies i was looking for inspiration as i was losing heart a little … its such a slow process and im not a fast learner .thanks for the input guys
also guys zombie movies annoy me slightly as the undead is an impossible concept … since the heart is not pumping the blood is not moving and without the ability to pump blood to the muscles the zombies simply could not move… This is why although i call my zombies such they are more like living people who are infected with a rabies like disease . which kinda leads into the twist i have planned which will now be obvious lol
Hi mr_starfire, keep learning, you can do it. Zombies are fun and I really don’t think you need a realistic scientific explanation for them. Classic Zombie film used supernatural forces to explain re-animation and expansion. A viral outbreak is the modern zombie theme and the film 28 Days Later did the best job using that plot in my opinion. The movie Stake Land’s Vampires used Zombie Mechanics. I personally enjoyed Left 4 Dead’s use of Super Zombies, and the Last of Us use of real-world science in a unique way to create evolving Zombies. I’ve even come up with my own sci-fi twist for Zombie-like monsters mutated by inter-dimensional radiation. Using infected Humans always suggests the infected can be cured with a vaccine.
