You’re off to a great start! @B4k; I don’t particularly remember “The Hatch” from the show, but then again it’s been too many years since I’ve last seen “Lost”.

Hello again. for this week I have passed the first lighting based on references I have gathered and texturized the place a bit more and also made some tileable textures for the ground level and walls. have a look

This is making me want to watch Lost for the first time. It has to be super rad with an environment like this.

The lighting and color vibrancy are done incredibly well. Can’t wait to see the final product

Thank you. LOL I dont remember it very well but I have been gathering images as much as I can from the show itself. I have to make minor modifications

The tileable textures you made for the ground level and walls look incredible and very similar, if not spot on, to the show’s reference! You are not kidding around with this assignment; fantastic work!

Hi everyone this past week I changed some geometries of the place itself based on new references and for blast doors( I explain at the bottom).
-fixed the roughness and added details to textures of the kitchen
modeled , UV mapped and textured bookcases and shelves.

-adjusted the lighting

-also UV mapped the Ping-pong table and dinning table but the texturing is remaining

this week:
I’m finishing off modeling and texturing lamps and a chair that is in the scene .

the week after I will be finished with texturing of all the furnitures then Im going to add 3 blast doors that get activated during a lock down.

instead of the big sofa in the scene Im going to model an asst hero that could be focused on. I couldn’t find good references for the big sofa ,it has become very repetitive to model furnitures I already have 1 comfort chair and a dinning table with two chairs in the scene.

there’s an old projector which I want to model as my asset hero that I have found perfect references for it .
it could show something on a screen during a locked down ( like one of the episodes from the show)

when the blast doors get activated it isolates the main part of the place from the command room ,the enterance and the part where there are washing machines and workout bench. I noticed there are no barrier or any door between the mentioned areas when there’s no locked down it looks better with blast doors instead of having blacked out areas

I could bring the focus to the living room where there is a lot of stuff that could be focused on. there is a recording machine and a gramaphone.

Hello again I am back with weekly update of the project.

as I mentioned before this week I wanted to finish off with the furniture but still there may be room for more change.

for the most part I have been working on the models to be finished but after doing some checks on performance I lowered the resolution of some of the textures in the scene to get better results. I can get consistent FPS of 120.(this could be lower depending on the settings in UE)

here’s a video of the performance :

I also added a nice looking character

and here’s another video that show cases the place:

and here are the models I have added to the scene :

until next week

+fixed some errors in my textures from assets
+Im changing UVs of some models that take similar materials. so I can make a tileable material for them
I will keep you updated .

Hello
I am back with another update and time around I changed more details to the level by decals and some downloaded assets to populate the scene

I also made some tileable textures to make one material for several assets one is for some wooden objects and the other is for blast doors (might change it later)

the story im trying to tell is from this episode

Thank you until next week

Hello I am back with another update.
past week I worked on the lighting and details in the scene.
I tried to tell the story how someone escaped the lockdown after getting stuck and injured under one of the big doors

in the images bellow you can see the new light setting

I also worked on my hero asset and the modeling is done but I have a bit of problem with the UVs
when I try set the texel density of UV shells I get division by zero error.
here is the model

until next week

Hello everyone
this week I finished working on my hero asset . I figured it wasn’t quite matching the reference in terms of geometry and I added more edges so it’s more rounded in the corners.

I also fixed the shadowing of the lights so they all cast shadow, here is before and after

Until next time

Where’s the button!? My red, shiny, candy-like button??

Looks good so far, but needs moar button! Lighting needs work, TBH. IIRC the Hatch almost had ‘natural’ lighting in how it was lit; almost like there was a fake-window.

Hey thank u for the feedback. I’m trying to model it based on references that I have and because of large scale of level and short time that I have been given from the school I decided to design it based on an episode where there is lockdown and John gets trapped inside. the natural light you taking about comes from the window near that dinning table but during this episode it gets shut down. in different episodes there are minor differences in terms of lighting. I collected many screenshots and I had to pay close attention to details to have close up shots

i DID forget about that. It’s all the blast-panels, not just the door; right…

Don’t get me wrong, I thought you were missing that detail, but otherwise the scene does look very faithful! Keep going!

Hey an early update on the lighting I guess it looks better now I experienced with IES light textures and changed intensity and diameters of lights in the scene now its more lit. I’m still working on it see what details I can add before finalizing it
