The review system was severely downgraded in comparison with the Unreal Marketplace.

The textual description is gone, so we’ve lost a valuable feedback tool. There is no reviews tab, so it’s impossible to verify who left a review.

The average rating now only appears after the asset receives at least 5 reviews, before meeting this threshold it shows only “No rating yet”, as if the asset never received any reviews.

This new review system lacks transparency and reliability, since you can’t verify who left a review its impossible to distinguish bot reviews from real clients.

As a seller, I’ve already sent my feedback and concerns about the new review system to Epic Games and I encourage other sellers and clients to do the same.

To share your feedback or report bugs to Epic Games, simply send an email to uemarketplacesupport@epicgames.com and add fabupdate@epicgames.com on cc

The FAB support team is probably on red alert for hot fixes, so it is the best time to share your feedback about the new platform and report any issues you may encounter.

I totally agree… And on the Marketplace we could ask a question for the author if they have no contact information.

For example, I have purchased a procedural system on the Marketplace, I could leave a question for the dev there. Now I need to get some information about some details related to it but there is no way to contact the dev and they have no other way to contact them.

And no questions. Tiny icons. No more showing the creator easily. No wishlists.

I mean they are finally having the first post-Fab sale. I normally will spend a few hundred bucks whenever there is a large sale. I can’t even muster the energy to find things on there. And when I do find something, often it has no video, no questions, no discord, no real way for anyone to know if this is worth buying or not until they get reviews.

There right now is zero accountability for publishers. They aren’t likely get enough negatives to know. There’s no way to comment and let someone know why you gave a good or bad review. It’s very similar to what we see with the bug tracker, and the old answers section. All of a sudden one day you have a bug report tool, no real way to provide feedback.

I think Epic will finally get it when it hits their pocket books. That reality is about to set in. I’d imagine the sales numbers are going to be down significantly. I for my part, am trying to find things, it’s friggen impossible.

What in the world was the logic behind getting rig of pagination? So we can now scroll through thousands of items and if we want to do something simple like change the category we have to scroll back to the top? Need to view it all in one sitting? That is compounded by all the other problems. I give up. It’s not worth the headache.
