The Deliverer - VR

Excited to announce The Deliverer! The Deliverer is a game I’ve been working on exclusively for VR, specifically oculus/vive. Still a bit too early to go into a lot of detail about what this game is in terms of gameplay or talk to heavily about it but I will say the game is being designed as more of a casual experience focused on things I specifically feel embody the VR experience, such as tight rope walking over giant mountain passes, mountain/cliff climbing, using gliders to fly through valleys, boat rides, and more! One of my main goals is to create one of the most beautiful VR games and provide players a unique way to experience these worlds! The worlds will be quite large and open for a VR game, the windmill in the distance is fully playable area. There is also quite a unique twist to the overall backstory/worlds that I’ll reveal a bit later on

Currently I am planning on shipping the game in roughly 3-6 months time, will be releasing a full release trailer a bit before the release of the game as well. The below screenshot is still very early WIP so should look a bit better when it is finished, performance is also extremely important to me, the game runs at a perfect 90+ FPS at all times!

Quick Sneak Peak of some of the environmental work

Extremely impressed you got this to run at 90 on Oculus spec. My explorations with grass creation alone tanked the gpu. Looks awesome and looking forward to seeing more!!!

Beautiful environments, and I’m down with all of those activities you mentioned in the game play. Stoked to see more, too!

paingate, yea the 90 FPS limit is pretty steep XD Youd be surprised what graphics features you can remove though without people noticing a thing :stuck_out_tongue:

JBernhelm, thanks! Excited to get more info out there in the coming months

Your time lapse videos have always fascinated me, and this is no different. Looks great!

wow. ive looked through some environments you did on youtube. if this game is gonna be anything close to it i would love it. if not im sure it will still look good. is it going to be paid? and possibly on normal desktop as well (not only VR)

Awesome to hear people are still enjoying the time lapse videos  With those videos they are made as more of a practice thing very quickly so this project will be quite a lot better in many ways except that I can’t abuse the frame rate nearly as much :stuck_out_tongue: Quite a lot of time is being put into both the gameplay side and the visual side of the project!
@Gameking002 - I do not have any current plans to release this as a regular PC game outside of VR at launch. If the game is successful and there is enough demand for it I would definitely be up to doing so at a later date  I’m also thinking about doing a kickstarter possibly at some point so having a regular non-vr version as one of the stretch goals is something I was thinking about doing for sure  At the moment I’m working towards just getting a simple demo ready to submit for a Unreal Dev Grant

@evilmrfrank okay, i will look forward to that then. yet for now is there any possibility to play VR games on a pc without a VR-headset??? software or something? this would be helpful for me not only in this project but potentially more such as maybe testing my own games in VR. and to check compatibility and stuff

I don’t believe there would be a way to play this on a PC without a VR headset unless I specifically make a setting to disable it or switch between VR/regular PC mode.

okay, ive done some research but havent really found anything yet. unfortunate but maybe some application will come for playing VR games without a VR headset
