When I add a fairy detailed mesh into a motion graphics cloner object in UE 5.5, it seems to get remeshed to simpler geometry. Even if I set the cloner to only display one clone. Has anyone else come across this and is there a way to disable it? I can’t find any reference to it in the documentation.
Update! It seems to be if I import my mesh as an FBX. I have imported it from C4D using the Direct Link Datasmith plugin and it seems to clone without remeshing. Maybe FBX meshes are treated differently,
It was a Nanite issue. Disabling Nanite on both the mesh stopped the cloner simplifying it!
