The character snaps back after the retargeted animation.

Hello everyone,
After retargeting a crouch animation from a free animation I found on Fab and using it in a BlendSpace, my character snaps back — it looks like the animation moves out of the capsule.
I’ve tried enabling and disabling Root Motion and also toggling Force Root Lock, but the issue still persists.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Seems like a retargeting issue. From what I can see, your target skeleton’s hip bone is referencing the source root bone. This leads to the source root bone driving the transformation of your target hip bone.

Meaning you should use the source root bone to your target root bone. In some cases, hip bone to root bone. It depends on the type of skeleton and the way they are set up.

Hello ,

thanks for replying @56legion the problem was the animation that i found that the root_ctrl doesnt move with the body

It means that the original animation is using the hip bone as the root bone. That’s why I said it totally depends on the type of skeleton and the animations. This is very common for animators’ practice, but the method is not suitable for game usage.
