Hey everyone, I’m thrilled to share my latest 3D environment + cinematic animation, which I’ve been working on intermittently while juggling other projects.
I’ve always wanted to create something with a distinct ‘western’ flavour, partly inspired by RDR2 and Sergio Leone. Additionally, after finishing the first season of ‘Fallout’ (which was awesome!), I found my mind blending these influences, as reflected in my PureRef references.
I envisioned an abandoned (for how long?) small chapel in the middle of nowhere, and everything else grew from there, adding layers to the scene’s story. I modelled, sculpted, and textured most of the hero assets from scratch, using Megascans for vegetation and a couple of asset packs.
Once the environment was set up in Unreal Engine, the most fun part began. I let my inner filmmaker take over, experimenting with cameras, lenses (I tried anamorphic this time!), camera angles, movements, music, sound effects and let Lumen do the rest. Such a liberating experience working this way!
I’ll be posting a breakdown of the environment over the next few days if anyone interested? In the meantime, I hope you like it!
I’m currently looking for new Unreal projects to work on, so if you need help, please reach out!
