Here’s a strange thing. I have a few, relatively simple, blueprinted static mesh objects with not much more than a rotator component. When I PIE using the “Selected Viewport” option, they appear just fine in the world and I can interact. When I go “New Editor Window (PIE)”, however, they mysteriously vanish - they are invisible and non-interactable. Any ideas?
Hello Goldemort,
Interesting problem, I just created a Blueprint with a Static Mesh + RotatingMovement component and am not able to reproduce this.
‘Actor Hidden in Game’ works as expected with making it invisible in both play in viewport and play in new editor window.
When you create a new Blueprint with Static Mesh + rotating component does it still happen? Is there any other blueprint logic required to reproduce?
So I have multiple, not dissimilar objects in the scene. None of which disappear! Everything except these guys.
If I stick one in a fresh (Basic) level, it works fine in both viewport and window PIE.
Not sure what to make of that other than something about my level is odd!
After pressing ‘Play in a new window’ - do these objects still exist in the outliner? If so, is their visibility set to true?
