The best way to create a moving train scene ?

Hi everyone.

I’m looking for the best way to create a moving train visualisation and I’m not sure on how to do it.
Should I create the train in a blueprint actor and move it with a timeline or the sequencer ? And how can I make it follow the rails ?

Is there anything I should watch out for ?

Thank you

That might be one of many solutions, it’s something that was used in the train scene from Uncharted 2

Depends on the scene. Are you inside the train and are looking outside? Can you move around in the train and can you look outside? Or are you outside the train and look at it while it passes by. Are you up in the air or will the camera follow the train while it moves through a part of the city or another environment?

I’m so sorry, I completly forgot about my message…

That’s really impressive when you look at it this way

The idea is to have the train moving while getting differents angles using a bunch of cameras, some outside not moving, some inside and some following.
There is no gameplay at all, just a cinematic

You can use sequencer to move the train around in the scene, like you would with a moving camera. Sequencer can move any movable asset.

I used some Blueprints for the test but yes I learned that I should have used the sequenser, I’ll know it for the next time
