Thanks for the purchase. The integration I did was on an older version of the ALK and I just heard a new version is out that revamps quite a bit, so I’m not quite sure how much my current tutorial would apply to the new version. Still, I’m happy to make one. You can get in touch with me via Discord: @Ragnar#9805
Just bought it and the blueprints seem somewhat overwhelming for a beginner ue4 user. Could you make more beginner friendly tutorials on setting up a custom character and changing out the moves and including the widgets? Or could you point out parts in the documentation with explanations?
Some very basic “Step by step” for “Newbies”, “dummies”, OR “Whatever” TUTORIAL Videos would do YOU and Everyone else a world of GOOD. I hope you’re still selling units on the Marketplace… I’ve had this Asset for over a year and it’s still the same very POOR Quality Videos, I read the comments, You promise more videos of this type, BUT You Still have Not kept your Word. “Where are the Tutorial Videos that don’t Suck man?!” …. With all due respect, this is constructive criticism, and a Customer ASKING You to provide a better service for Your product, we invested in… If you have no love for the Assets, and or are too tired, busy, or jaded, to deliver; Maybe you could find someone to help you. This has Great potential. Please don’t waste it, and ruin it for everyone that are taking a risk investing in your Asset… Thanks for what you have done, BUT, You can Do Much Better than this… I’ll be looking for those Videos, maybe you’ll surprise us…
I own Art of Combat also and my complaints run in the same vein as BEGINWITH. The product is very good. But his so-called tutorials are really nothing more than documentation of the asset. They aren’t poor quality exactly, just that they are documentation NOT tutorials. For the longest time the only video I considered a tutorial was from one his friends who did a video on using UNREAL’s PARAGON assets. Also, the section on his Discord Channel on this asset requires “phone verification” before you can post. A bit lame.
I’m so sorry it took so long for me to see your comment here. I have a plethora of excuses but please, forgive me. I sincerely apologize.
I have announced the beginning of a new tutorial series aimed at beginners. It begins on April 13th. I will address all of your questions, and please feel free to reach me on Discord for a one-on-one with me at anytime.
I’m absolutely not patronizing you when I say I feel your passion in your comments, and I will definitely not disappoint you. I hear you, loud and clear. I understand clearly what you want me to do, and it will be done. I’ve been trying, but clearly better is required. However, I just need some time. I’m currently in the process of getting all new equipment (system unit, monitors, fiber-optics, animation studio, workspace) and manpower, as I intend to heavily invest my fortune in making The Art of Combat a powerhouse asset on the marketplace, and the go to asset for combat. At least I need the new system unit to make more in depth beginner tutorials, with high quality and pristine audio. I estimate one month. Max. I truly appreciate your investment. It’s your investment I’m using for the stuff mentioned above. Thank you for your incredible patience up till now. Just stay with me for a bit longer.
UPDATE: Got my new system setup. It’s a very high-end system - I went all in. Next is the tutorial serialization, which is set to begin April 13th, and very possibly, next will be high-quality animations and models. Stay tuned.
Yeah, I’ve gone through my ‘tutorials’ as well and compared them with actual word-class tutorials, and you’re right - there’s a difference between documentation and tutorials. I’ve been focusing too much on ‘what is’ instead of the ‘how to’, and I intend to fully correct that. Please subscribe to my YouTube channel (link in signature) so you can join me in my new actual tutorial series.
Also, as for the phone verification issue required for Discord, there was an issue where we had some trolls in the server, so we had to install some security measures to protect the integrity and quality of the information and discussions on the Adrayvia Discord server. I’m not sure if the phone verification is one of them though. Do join us though. We’d love to discuss openly with you.
Hello @everyone , what’s up? The new “Beginner Tutorial Series” are set to begin on April 13th. I’d like to take a direct approach to the series. So please submit your questions and any tutorials you’d like addressed here: Adrayvia Live and I’ll definitely answer to the best of my ability.
Hey All, the highly sought after beginner tutorials are out and extremely helpful. I highly recommend this pack. This is a complex system that takes time to grasp, the dev is very helpful and responsive on discord for those who have questions.
Hey everyone , here’s a new tutorial: The Art of Combat - Beginner Tutorial Series 5 [How To Show UI, Re-Initialize Characters]. In this hour long tutorial and overview, we show simple fixes as well as live debugging solutions to some of the issues that some customers of the pack have:
How To Show UI For Endless Survival Mode;
How To Re-Initialize Characters For Versus Mode When Playing More Than 1 Round;
An Overview of The Core Combat Systems and The Sub Systems/Addons In The Pack:
Are you using root motion in your attack montages? How do you rotate the character while the montage is playing? I’ve tried to implement a similar melee combat system but I keep getting net corrections when I introduce a little packet lag running dedicated server. I’d be interested in buying this if you solved that problem. I couldn’t tell from your video’s since your not simulating lag.
Is there a demo you could link so I could verify myself?
Ah, I don’t currently have a demo up. Yes, you can use root motion for any montages you own, and want. If you want to rotate the character independently of the montage being played, you can use my additive animation solution (included in the pack).
