Hi Everyone! My name is Ronnie Ree. I’m a professional animator. And I decided I wanted to try and make my own game, as a way for me to learn how to use Unreal Engine.
The game is basically Ghost’n Goblins meets WonderBoy meets Rogue Legacy. It’s still very early in development, and I’m learning as I go. There’s a more detailed description on the Youtube video, if you want to learn more about the game, and follow the progress…
All you see in the video, I have created by following tutorials on Youtube. I have gotten very little help from outside. I bought many of the Polygon Packs on the marketplace, like Polygon Dungeon, which has helped me a lot with the visuals, art direction, and just speed things up in general, same goes for audio packs.
I had a colleague help me out with the heart health bar, as that was way beyond my blueprint level. And finally I had a friend help me model the hero character Gorm. You can see my old blue and orange hero in some of the older videos on my Youtube Channel.
My biggest challenge ahead, and what is holding me back a little, is the enemies… As you can see in the video, there’s no enemies at all… Enemies are a huge challenge for me, as it’s very hard to find good enemy tutorials on Youtube, and videos on how to setup AI, and interaction between Hero and Enemy, hit detections and stuff like that… Anyways, I will start on enemies, as soon as I feel I’m ready for it
Let me know what you think of this, and how I can improve upon it. I know there’s still a lot of gameplay and features missing, but leave a comment anyways… Thanks for watching
