Thankyou for fixing the Blender fbx import

Thankyou for fixing the Blender fbx import, been testing the blender fbx import and things are looking good
first i did a skeletal mesh with the TOA ticked worked fine
then a fbx with a single anim alls well
then today i tried a fbx with skelmesh + 5 named actions/anims, all come in fine, have to rename them but thats ok the anim lengths are correct and everything else so far.

once again thanks for your hard work

Hi Mike, yes i had to comment the lines that add the extra bone, if you check the video’s that i put on the ftp they show the blender skel mesh i first check with, i then re-worked my blender weapon file and re did the anims in the action editor eg named them though when you import to rocket it adds the file name to the anim name but thats easy to edit, maybe i missed something but hey it works  i imported the whole file in a one-er so maybe thats why it added the name

ok cool, yeah I noticed the name of the file being added to the names of the animations so if you missed something I missed it to, I managed to import my golfcart with its animations, a test morph target, materials and textures in one go witch I think is better although I did have to connect the textures in the material.

with the lines commented out did your meshes bones still get rotated slightly as well?

just working out if its better to comment them or not.

if you don’t comment them out then you get an “armature” bone added to the root :frowning: apart from that so far so good

I know you get the extra armature if you don’t comment the lies (have not got round to it yet) , but I was just wondering if the bones still get rotated if the lines are commented out but as the mesh and anims still work fine I suppose it doesn’t really matter.

hi George, nice to hear you got it working, all that’s needed now is a “import LOD” button for static meshes and the blender to rocket fbx pipeline is 100% compatible without having to use loads of workarounds.

I know It works either way but just out of curiosity did you comment the 3 lines in the exporter or did you leave it standard?
