Texturing / Out of Memory

I’ve worked on four projects since RealityScan 2.0 was released. One of them processed completely without any issues. However, I had a lot of trouble with the other three projects because of “Out of Memory” errors. Just today, a project failed to complete normally during the texturing stage due to this same “Out of Memory” issue. I saw the 2.0.1 patch notes and it looks like this problem might be fixed. I wanted to ask if that’s correct.
Is the issue resolved, or are they just acknowledging that the issue exists?
I’m so tired of this issue.

Thanks for posting. The “Out of memory” texturing error is a known issue. We’ve addressed parts of it in recent updates, but it may still occur in some scenarios. We’re continuing to investigate, and your details will help.
Could you share a few details about your setup so we can review this more precisely?

While we continue working on this, the following have helped other users:

  • If you’re using laser scans, try disabling them for the texturing step.

  • Try different unwrap settings (switching the unwrap method or adjusting parameters).

My Unwrap, Texturing Settings

The Laser Scan Data was already enabled when the error occurred.

As you suggested, I will change the Unwrap Method to ‘Mosaicing’ and try texturing.

I’ll give it a try as you suggested, though I’m not very confident that it will be successful.

If I may ask, under what circumstances does this error typically occur? Seeing it mentioned in the patch notes, I imagine quite a few people must have reported this issue.

As a user who’s been with you since the service first launched on Steam, I know how hard you work to improve the product and how you’ve always hustled to provide quick feedback (I used to email you for support back in the day). Because of that, I’m always rooting for you.

What are the exact pros and cons of the Geometric and Mosaicing methods?

It’s been quite a while since Mosaicing was added, but to be honest, I haven’t really noticed a tangible difference, so it’s always been a question for me.
