Hi,
I’m interested in learning more about the enabled parts of a model. I have created a large model of 230 parts, colorized the model but only wish to texture a couple of individual parts. It seems that by clicking on the eye button next to the part you can disable/enable it, leaving only enabled parts showing in the 3D view. However, when I click texture, it tries to do the entire model and just takes way too long to process. I only wish to export these few textured parts of the 3D scene without having to redo a smaller reconstruction selection area. When I only have one part enabled and go to mesh it exports every part.
Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Scott
Hi Scott Hocknull
to get an even easier workflow, create a bounding box and filter out unwanted part of the model, so you will get one “single” model that can be even easier to clean up ( or use SIMPLIFY to get a reasonable triangle count ).
Thanks,
I’ve done this and it’s fine, however, it would be quicker to just select a part and rerun in high detail etc. I don’t want to reduce the size of the overall reconstructed area, I just want to be able to rerun high detail and texture of the smaller parts at highest resolution. For example create normal detail model colorised and untextured (all parts) but do high detail or full texture individual parts that I can then open up all parts (normal and high) together in other software. By changing reconstruction area you have to then do multiple reconstructions, which have already been done as parts. Also the parts seem to be randomly placed throughout the model. It would be good to have them next to one another in a sequence so bits can be deleted afterwards. Just a thought.

Hi scott.hocknull
look at the MESH export settings and set SAVE MESH BY PARTS to TRUE and export all parts…
For now it’s not possible to run reconstruction per PART, you need to reconstruct the whole model on Normal or High and just then export it in parts…
