Textures turning black fix

I’m running into an issue toward the end of my current project. I am following a tutorial in 5.3.2 and have encountered an issue where the river I generated at the start of my project suddenly turns black even though I haven’t changed any of the settings on it since it’s initial creation where I adjusted color, speed, and depth. I have tried to generate a new one, but as soon as it renders in, it too is black and won’t change to a natural water look. I have even tried rolling back to older save versions of the file, but can’t seem to get anything to work.
