Textures blurry after updating engine

Hey everybody.

Eversince i migrated my project from 4.26 to 4.27 (Or even UE5), i get blurry textures. They switch back to good quality if i open the asset inspector. If i restart the engine it’s blurry again. Does anybody know how to fix this? I attached 2 pictures to show this problem.

I have this same exact problem, the textures are loading in at the lowest resolution MIP, it started ever since I upgraded to 4.26(On 4.27 now, but the problem still persists). The problem also appears to be consistent across different machines.

Opening any of the assets related to the texture will temporarily fix the issue.

  • A mesh using a material that uses the texture.
  • A material using the texture.
  • The texture itself.

but once UE4 is closed and reopened, the problem comes back.

UPDATE: It seems the issue is related to texture streaming, disabling texture streaming will “fix” it. (It is not a texture streaming pool budget issue, as there are no warnings for this and the issue only appeared after upgrading on a finished level that hasn’t been touched in awhile.)

i also had this problem when updating to Unreal 5.0.1. All the Textures in my Project are blurred.
I don’t know if anyone has found a way to fix it completely?

Having a similar issue with textures assigned to a landscape spline mesh. Searching the forums seem pretty useless compared to how answerhub was.

This issue could be because of the default scalability settings. I added a description of a potential fix on my website: 3DBrushwork - Fixing Low Texture Resolution

I hope this helps!

ya there is one option to fix it select the content folder in ue4\ue5 then add an [asset filter Texture] and then select all texture then right click and save
