Textureless Render in CR

I really like the textureless white render that RC creates. It does a great job of showing the detail in the mesh. What is the best way to recreate this style of rendering in other software? Is there a specific shader recommended?

I’m hoping to clean up the edge of a mesh in 3DS Max or Meshlab and render similar output to that which RC creates.

This is MatCap rendering mode (some kind of env map projection)
It simulate 3 lignhts setup (distant lights). White (3/4), bottom wharm red, and back blue.
