texture problem with mixed survey (photogrammetry and TLS)

I have a strange problem.

  1. Processed Georef inside TLS survey with import E56 file -> Model and texture is OK
  2. processed Georef outside photogrammetry survey -> Model and texture is OK
  3. ALIGNMENT -> Export -> Registration for both project
  4. NEW project -> Imported the two Component -> MODEL OK + photogrammetry texture OK -> BUT INSIDE E57 SCANNING texture is BAD
I modified the setting of the Laser Scanning weight in texturing from 0,01 to 1 but nothing changed
I usually work with mixed survey but this is the first time that appeared it’s

I also have same problem, does anyone have a workaround or clue how to solve this problem?

The Support Answer was “it’s a BUG”

Yes it is bug that we need to fix.

When you export aligned laser scan from the RC as a component and import it back to new project. This component can not be textured.

tuomas.korhonen do you experience same issue ?

I tried to reproduce this importing laser scanned and aligned photos -components into same project, then imported mesh into component and texturing gave me an error. So I think this is different issue because in the original problem texturing can be done but inner areas (where textures should come from laser scans) are black.

Any plans when there would be fixes for this?

Hello Tuomas,

What kind of error was displayed when texturing the model failed.

Please could you describe more your workflow? You say that you imported the model and then textured it. Did you used custom UVs?

I got “Unexpected error occurred:Texturing stage 01 sanity check.” when i used only laser scanned component and model.

  1. I opened a new project

  2. I imported laser scanned component

  3. I imported model generated from laser scanned component into that component

  4. unwrap of the model

5.texturing -> error

after that i tried cleaning the model and then steps 4 and 5, but still same error.

Hi 367775658511,

I just wanted to ask, has a fix been released for this bug. We are experiencing something similar but with brown texture for laser scanning instead of Black.

All interior areas have laser scanning and the texture when we process just the laser scanning looks great (enough for what we need). When we combine laser scanning and the exterior imagery all interior textures look brown and smudged. the same alignment with just laser scanning looks good. We have adjusted the weighting but this has not had any effect.

Is there a suggested work around for this type project?

Also what Bug Number is it so I know what to look for? it is quite an important project.

Thanks

367775658511 We are having the exact same problem. Do you have any updates about this bug? Any workarounds?

Maybe it’s possible to create two models in separate projects. One from the photos of the exterior and one from the laserscans of the interior and then merge the models together in some way?
