Texture problem with c4d import (datasmith)

When I try to import models from Cinema 4d to UE4 using Datasmith, everything is done correctly except for the textures. All the textures are imported correctly, but some do not apply on the model. And I tried to apply them manually in Unreal but for some models it was just impossible to get the good texture on the good spot. Is there any way to solve this ?

PS : The models are not mine but I have permission from the creator to use them.

are you using the latest version of the C4D exporter for Unreal?
Could you share that model with us so we can try to replicate?

I don’t know if I’m using the latest version but I didn’t find anyway to update it. Maybe I’m missing something…

My mistake, I never used C4D and I though there was a datasmith exporter.
I repro same behaviour than you so I will open a ticket and pass it to the team.

I have been told the model needs to be cleaned up:
e.g. “You have the same piece of geometry with two different polygroup assignments.”


Also our importer does not support procedural materials. “Everything that is exported needs to have actual textures assigned”
