Texture in tiff format

Hello,
We are using the texture layer to encode some information about the model. We are using the texture layer to show, which objects we have in our 3D scene. We have many objects, which we would like to detect in such a way, but if we want to encode this information with RBG, then we would need to have (number_of_objects)/3 layers. We would like to avoid it by using a different format of a texture. Could you tell us, if we could use .tiff oe other formats, which have more channels we could used for our task?

I am looking forward to your reply.
Best regards,

I am so happy to hear, that it is possible. Could also export different textures in different format. For example, we still export original texture as png and all additional textures as tiff.
I am looking forward to your reply.

Yes, you can. It all depends only on your settings.
For example, if you have two textures, you can set the values separately for them:
