Texture export from only laser scans

Hello,

I have a project with only laser scans w/ directly associated 360 imagery from the scanner. I can see the coloured point cloud in the registration software, ReCap and when I either Colorize or Texture in CR.

But, when exported into Maya as an FBX or OBJ I loose all the texture information and only have the white mesh.

One thing that I just noticed is that when I clean the dataset, the Texturing style and Unwrapping style are listed as unknown. The Texture count, Texture resolution are all listed as ‘0’. Should texturing be the last step before export?

My main question, what is the best method for taking laser scan-based CR files into Max/Maya fully textured?

Did you simplify after texturing?

Then it will be lost, as you will probably be able to noitce by the absence of the little “Tx” symbol next to the model (Tx = texture). That is covered in the help…   :wink:
