I’m attempting to make a cutout in a translucent banner which can be changed dynamically.
I’ve tried many different ways through materials and nothing seems to come close. Was hoping for some ideas on the matter.

The banner will be translucent with 70% opacity. Any locations where text is placed will be 100% translucent, or 0% opacity. The banner could be solid as well, the concept and where I’m having troubles is the same: making cutouts in the banner where the text is.

You can use UMG retainer box and a material which manipulates transparency. I managed to make something like this in 4.14.
