text appear and disappear on main menu depending on the frame of background video that is playing

hey, new to unreal engine and game development, ive set up a main menu with a animated background, and the main premise of the game is VHS, so menu will resemble a VHS camera screen, and with this I have included occasional screen flickers/flashes, and was just wanting to know how to make the text/buttons on the screen dissapear when these flashes/flickers happen, or even make them distorted, then reappear as normal when the flash ends.
