Testing Widget Functionality in UMG Editor

I somehow accidentally activated a simulation of sorts for UMG Widget Editor. I am not referrring to the actual “Simulate” Game Mode and Play Button in Editor.

This was something different, and I have no idea how I activated it. I have deactivated, only to realize I had encountered a feature I never knew existed, and now I cannot figure out how to activate it again.

When enabled, widgets hover states etc. would activate in editor, and I could still edit the Widget. I noticed while in this “mode” some widgets I had to right click to select as nomal left click would not select them (such as buttons).

This was great for testing widget behavior, as I used to start a standalone game to test my widgets, which is now annoying knowing I dont have to.

Anyone have a clue what I am talking about and how to activate it again?

I have been looking for the same, a way to test my widget funcionality in UMG Editor…no luck so far

This is driving me nuts, i still have not been able to duplicate and surprised no one has provided a solution. How would such a great feature be unknown?

Chat GTP says something but it didn’t make sense to me.

Maybe the UI changes and chat still thinks things are on some places that they aren’t.

This might be a lead, I have to investigate the options in here , let me know if you figure out something @blindminds . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-FbDCgwHBU

Widget Reflector is a debugging tool. There’s this:

Oh, Widget eflector is great, did not know about this! Thanks
The link brings up the Quick UMG Preview thing, but that is Forward Looking and not implemented as experimental right? What I accidentally did sounds perhaps like Quick Preview, but it actually works?

I have no been able to figure how I got the widgets to “play” or simulate in the widget editor without hitting PIE or anything. It was some keyboard key combo I believe I accidentally hit…

@blindminds Try what @Everynone wrote with the Widget preview.

It’s great, I still find it a bit convoluted worflow that I have to create a widget preview and add in there my widget and then preview but it’s better then nothing.

Thank you @Everynone
