Tendency to bend long linear models

Hello

I`ve tried to reconstruct a 200m stripe of an archaeological profile. It is a 60cm and 1m deep trench that is kind of J - shaped. The only way to make photos of it is from above to the side of the trench. The problem is: the alignment can put it all together, but the whole model has a strong bend to it, it “rolls itself in”. I tried several different distortion models, but the best one is “Division” and it still has an unaccaptable amount of curvature to it.

I even have a lot of ground control points with exact coordinates, but those are completely ignored in alignment. RC just says “the reprojection error is over the limit” and shows 8 meters of deviation instead of taking them into account when reconstructing.

The biggest issue is the capturing here. Instead of shooting in a line, you should be having a closer set of images and a further one, then as well the angles and the height of the camera position should vary. You can try to play around with control points here, but there is a high chance this needs to be re-shot correctly.
