As our Technical Artist, you are the answer to all our questions. With a focus on releasing our game design into all, it can be. We are structuring our outdoor arenas to function together, and we need help to stitch them together and set up level-streaming so all of the detail work of this beautiful, photoreal game, performs well.
Experienced in Unreal Engine 4 video game development, you will be an effective team communicator who brings the team together to accomplish common goals.

You will also liaison between design and the 3D Character Creation team working in UE4 to achieve common goals of performance and fidelity. You will bring our gear and our characters and our animations together, tested and all working in UE4.

You will ensure art assets can be easily integrated into a game without sacrificing either the overall artistic vision or exceeding the technical limits of the chosen platform. You will have technical proficiency in areas such as lighting and rendering, texturing, and with graphics-related programming languages such as shaders.

The Technical Artist acts as a bridge between the Artists and Programmers working on a game. You will work closely with the Lead Artist, and Programmers as well as the Game Producer. Understanding your role well, team leads from Level and Character have both requested the addition of a Technical Artist.

You will work closely with Epic on our specific technical needs. Keeping up to date with changes in technology, hardware, and software. You are the ‘how it gets done’, guy.
Our game is an open-world FPS with RPG-elements. There is a lot going on mid to end-game. You will understand texture and level streaming, Mip-Map distance bias, particle LOD’s, proper LOD use, and texture tiling by distance (as examples). This is so that we can make memorable areas, that focuses players on gameplay, while also allowing them to explore anywhere and find all of the beautiful detail that we build together, having it perform well.

You have a love and passion for working with various team members and creating functional environments the player can experience in awe. You understand how to stitch maps together to seamlessly build them into an open-world in UE4.

You will work remotely. You will track your time. You set forward your hourly wage and currency of choice. You will begin at least part-time so we can name you as our Technical Artist, to add your skills to ours in our Business Plan. You may go full time, up to 40-to-50 hours a week once we are funded (this will be any day now). IMU Studios is seeking a Technical Artist for Contract work. It begins as royalty to set up the team, then becomes full-time paid work.

We are a dedicated team of professionals. We’ve got a playable prototype that needs polish. We are growing the team to hit our milestones regularly, while our Business Advisor and our Executive Producer bring in the funding they have sourced.

This is made up of a thoughtfully-designed first-person, open-world video game with RPG elements, a pro-league seasonal playoff system, a deep story as told across novels. Planned virtual goods players can buy, sell and trade. This thrilling design, our lore and our characters, are all being built on this beautiful Unreal Engine.

Hey @VindaCator I am guessing since you’ve been working on this project for a few years that you already have a roadmap and a GDD put together? Are you open to working with a remote team on this? We have been working with indies for years and would love to get involved in Thunder. Cheers!
