Synced animation?

If I wanted to implement an animation such as one character grabbing or pinning down another. Where would I begin? How do I get the poses to correlate in unreal itself?

I’m trying to figure out how I can set up a custom animation state machine in Unreal Engine for my Commander without using the Epic Skeleton because there’s something wrong with the mixamo rig of my commander, My commander was Blender mesh originally, but rigged in Mixamo… But I can’t retarget to the Epic Skeleton to my commander because if I do so, the retargeting turns into a mess, (blender has this retargeting problem), so I have to manually set up the animations .

Does anyone know of a tutorial to show me how to set up third person character animations in the anim blueprint without using retargeting?
