Sync up walk speed with third person character walk animation?

Hi Guys,

I’m only so far as setting max walk speed on the default UE4 mannequin, however the animation doesn’t look natural because of the rate he is picking his feet up off the floor compared to how fast he is moving, no matter what speed I set it at. Actually if I set his max speed to 40, the walk is slow but it feels more realistic. Only the run speed looks completely normal.

Also, when the character is walking, the way it loops feels abrupt, I can see where the animation ends and starts and its jumpy, like he’s jerking himself a little everytime the walk anim begins.

Is there any explanation as to why this occurs and how I can correct it?
