Switch - Multiplayer FPS - Where players design the environment

We’re prepping a new playtest build - but so far still blocked on an issue only happening in packaged builds, making debugging a bit more difficult than you’d like it to be

We’re going for an open development with Switch - this means we’ll be sharing techniques, effects & tricks that we use during the development of our game. To get this started I made the first entry talking about Custom Depth that we use for a number of player effects in our game.

Expect more of this in the future!

Love the idea, looks super fun

Loving this! Can’t wait to see more. It’s tough to do an art style that feels clean and elegant but not too barren. I think you nailed it.

Looks super sick! Please include me in future playtests!

Thanks! Still figuring out how we can get the community involved in playtests. But surely something we’re interesting in!

(limited to one video per post)

Accompanied by the gradient fresnel effect I shared earlier this week which will be part of our environment and character shading:) A download of the material function is available in the blogpost. (or go to GitHub url in my signature to get the full demo scene!)

That effect looks so colorful, perfect for !

 has indeed found a use for it haha!

Portal mockup, possibly a feature at some point

Yea!

I really did!

Thanks again so much for sharing your ambient (Rainbow) specular shader with the community!

And your project looks really really fun!

I really think people will love having something fresh and new in the FPS scene, while also retaining what people like about FPS

Can't wait to see more videos!

♥

Some pretty awesome work there! And some great ideas too!

Thanks guys! We’ll keep those updating coming your way

It’s been a while, but we have another update!

Love the dof

We use Exponential Height Fog to add a great sense of depth and give the environment a much larger perceived scale than it actually is. Worked out great so far on our mockup assets.

This is really really really cool! Keep it up!

Thanks mate!
