Hello!
I am having issues with swimming textures, specifically on an exported alembic animated cache from Maya. I’ve created a Substrate material that has a procedural triplanar setup to project a rock texture. I am using a Absolute World Position and a Vertex Normal WS that is connected to a Transform Vector Worldspace to Local Space node, which are both set to local space as the destination (see image).
The material instance has a switch that allows for texture swimming but the default is set to lock the textures in position. This works perfectly fine on static meshes in UE, but not on the imported Alembic cache that uses the identical material instance. (see video)
I am wondering if I missed a node or a toggle to prevent the textures from swimming on the alembic cache? Thank you for any support!
Screen left rock is the cache, and screen right rock is the static mesh as reference.
