Suspicious email from info@email.epicgames.com - is it real?

Hello,

I received an email purporting to be from the Fab team (Epic Games) from info@email.epicgames.com with information about the June Flash Sale and a survey for sellers. The email asks for information such as my Epic ID, Fab seller name, email, and date of birth (with the condition that I must be over 18 years old).

The link in the email leads to a subdomain epicgames.questionpro.com. Is this an official message from Fab/Epic Games? Is it safe to provide the requested information through this survey?

Thanks for your help!

Hi, Yes that’s the normal sale invite email, leading to questionpro page.

Those details are needed to ensure you’re legal age for the sale and your IDs to link the products with.

Hey @Ortegor16 — really smart of you to double-check! :raising_hands:

That email address (info@email.epicgames.com) is legit and has been used for official Epic/Fab communication, including newsletters and seller surveys. The epicgames.questionpro.com link is also consistent with Epic’s official survey partner.

Still, you’re absolutely right to question any email that asks for sensitive details like your Epic ID or date of birth.

We actually received the same message for our own plugin — Asset Optics — and followed up with Epic support just to be safe. All checked out :+1:

:light_bulb:Side Note:

If you’re managing any type of project with lots of assets, tasks, or collaborators, Asset Optics might be worth a peek. It lets you:

  • :white_check_mark: Add per-asset checklists and comments inside Unreal
  • :counterclockwise_arrows_button: Sync with a web dashboard for project clarity
  • :puzzle_piece: Perfect for solo devs or small teams scaling up

We built it to stay sane while working on our own submissions — now it’s live on Fab if you’re curious!

Stay safe, and thanks again for asking the question — good for the whole community. :locked_with_key::fire:
