Surface snapping for blueprints

So I have a Blueprint of a Static mesh with some code behind.
The issue I face is that when placing this actor in the level editor, surface snapping won’t work on it. I have tried many things but nothing I do makes surface snapping work on anything that is blueprint.
Is this known, and if so is it something that will get changed in the future? It is hell placing all my actors now :frowning:

PS it does work when placing static meshes directly…
