Support for detecting private games to prevent cheaters

Game: Bedwars

STEPS:

  1. Load into a private game with no other players, just your alternate accounts, e.g., PC + phone
  2. Farm eliminations and secure wins
  3. Check the scoreboard

OBSERVED:
The game records eliminations and wins from private matches. There is currently no way to detect whether players are in a private/public game or if they are in a party.

EXPECTED:
Offer Creators support to detect private games and identify when players are in a party. We are limited in offering this to the players, in validating whenever the scores submitted are true matches played against other players in public matches, or someone is farming their wins.

You can already limit matchmaking privacy on island settings to prevent private games on your island:

Thank you for the suggestion! However, that’s not quite the intent of this ticket.

Restricting private games puts a hard limitation on players, since not everyone is aiming for scores or the leaderboard. Allowing Creators to filter out private games when calculating scores doesn’t stop people from playing privately — it simply ensures those results won’t count towards the leaderboard.
