My brother and I decided to jump into film-making in Unreal; and this is our first real-time cinematic.
We are huge fans of Superman and Alex’s Ross work so we decided to pay tribute by making this fan-made short film.
Unreal engine just opened a completely new door to our film-making journey. This project wouldn’t be possible without it, and we can not wait to jump into the next one!
We hope you guys enjoy it!
Greetings, @Stavrosfyl; I hope you and your brother are doing well! Thank you so much for sharing your beautifully sensational fan-made short film “Superman Awakens” with us here in the forums! You and your brother brought the HEAT with this fan film, and I, for one, am thankful you decided to get into filmmaking using the powerful UE5 Engine. I can only imagine how long it took to create a masterpiece of this quality! Everything about this cinematic was perfect in so many ways.
I can not say enough about “Superman Awakens”! I get excited and lost in thought just thinking about your fan film. The only snag I had with the production is that the narrator’s voice sometime’s got drowned out by the background audio/music. The subtitles helped with this, though, so it wasn’t that much of an issue. Besides that, 10/10 production, and I hope we get to see more from your team soon!
Thank you so much for your kind words and also your feedback!
It means the world to us hearing that people like you like it so much! You are totally right about the sound/voice over issue. Its something that we should be more aware in the future. It is the first time that we worked with naration, custom music and sound fx. So we had a lot of to go through.
Thanks again for your kind words and hopefully we will get back soon with the next project!
I love the story and feeling that went with the trailer. There’s such an immense amount of hope and longing to go alongside some genuinely beautiful scenes. It all feels so impactful and cinematic. Wonderful job!
The pleasure is all mine! Also, I meant to make the issue of the sound/voice-over sound better than I may have. It was a truly minor issue in the overall masterpiece that is your creation! I see this is you and your brother’s first real-time cinematic creation. Are there any other non-real-time creations you and your brother have created that we may see? I would love to see anything else you two have produced!
Hey, no hard feelings! We are open to any kind of feedback, this is what makes grow.
Yeah sure, we made our first cinematic 5 years ago and you can watch it here PROTEUS on Vimeo
You can follow us to stay in touch on Youtube. @antonisfyl and @Stavrosfyl
Thanks again for everything!
Thank you for getting back to me so quickly with that information! I promptly subscribed to your respective Youtube channels and had the pleasure of viewing your first cinematic, “PROTEUS.” Admittedly, a story in “PROTEUS” is waiting to be conveyed, and I genuinely wish the cinematic was longer to tell the tale! Nevertheless, the creativity and quality encompassed in this short cinematic cannot be understated. The Floating House VFX studio beautifully did it, and It is a masterpiece all on its own.
I’m looking forward to seeing the stunning content your team releases in the future.
The movie was visually stunning and showcased an impressive array of cinematic techniques.
The way the scenes were shot and edited was truly captivating, and it kept me engrossed throughout the entire movie. The lighting and sound effects were used masterfully to create a unique and immersive atmosphere.
I also want to commend the creator for their attention to detail in every aspect of the film.
Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the movie, and I want to thank the creator for sharing their talent and passion for filmmaking with us. It was truly a remarkable piece of work.
Hi, thank you very much for your kind words!
We put our hearts into this one, firstly as fans, then as cinematographers and lastly as CG artists. So we had to pay attention to every little detail tha we could fix or improve until the last minute of the release of the film.
It was a huge effort from all of us and means a lot to hear that warm feedback from everyone!
Thank you!
Great short film to watch and loved the attention for details like the metal bending and feet movement when lifting the daily planet. Kudos to you guys!
The visuals and storytelling were fantastic, and it’s clear that you and your brother put a lot of hard work and passion into this project.
