After downloading the latest Epic Games Launcher update, every single project on 4.27, or lower, that has C++ enabled can’t be opened anymore. Rendering all use fully halted. This is a MAJOR bug that needs fixing ASAP. Our fully funded project is fully locked, and I don’t even want to know how many more are affected by this.
I’m not sure your issue is launcher-related, I’ve downloaded the latest launcher version and I’m able to open 4.27 C++ projects normally
Anyway it’s not bug-free for sure, all the “quick launch” links are broken for me…
Check all your UE4 project, it seems to be inconsistent with what projects open and what projects don’t.
Coincidally needed to access older project and this is indeed an issue also with 4.26.
Workaround: Epic Games Launcher > Launch Unreal (4.26 / 4.27) > Open the project you want to work on.
Worked for me instead of directly opening the project but yeah, Epic should have a bit more robust testing pipelines.
Hey there @Ragnar-793! Welcome to the community! I can’t seem to recreate the issue on my side. To get a better idea of what’s happening, I have a couple questions.
When you say that every C++ project “Can’t be opened anymore”, how does that present? Does it quietly fail, freeze, or produce an error?
Can the projects be launched from their respective uProject files?
Can you try to verify the integrity of the 4.27 installation in the Epic Games Launcher?
Edit: It seems this issue may have a workaround discovered by another user on this thread:
