Hi! I’m a bit of a nut job.
I started playing recently, and naturally looked through all of the skins. I quickly found a favorite, being Helsie, and have gone somewhat insane over the fact that you cannot obtain Fortnite original skins that were part of previous passes.
So I came up with two possible and profitable solutions to this problem, as I’m sure many others are also disturbed like myself.
Idea One:
Introduce a player market for buying and selling skins that can no longer be obtained. I messaged epic support offering several hundred dollars for this single skin, and thought it would be cool if people could sell exclusive skins (Epic would take a cut, of course). This would not apply to obtainable skins, so there would be no lost revenue: only more.
Furthermore, this would to some degree lessen any issues with the buying and selling of accounts and the endless flow of saddened players that I’m sure have asked for things to return.
Idea Two:
Slightly alter the skins, be it their clothing color or something subtle but distinguishable enough to make it clear it is not the exact original, and introduce these to the shop. I don’t personally agree with gatekeeping on any level, but this way even people who have that opinion shouldn’t be offended. The assets already exist and the demand is high, so this translates to little effort for guaranteed profit.
(Returning recolored skins could be issued on a weekly/monthly basis in a “Crew” tab in the shop, allowing exclusively members of Fortnite Crew to purchase them.)
