I don’t know if anyone had talked about this yet or not, but hear me out. I think the Epic Games achievement system could be made much more rewarding by giving Achievement XP an actual purpose.
Instead of only displaying Achievement XP on a player’s profile, it could function as a reward currency that players earn by unlocking achievements. For example, Achievement XP could be exchanged for small Epic Games Store rewards such as discount’s for the given game’s DLCs or cosmetics.
The profile itself could focus on achievement completion instead of the XP amount. For example, games could display their completion status as “60% Achievements”
I think this could encourage players to hunt for achievements and fully complete games. If someone is only a few achievements away from earning enough XP for a reward, they would have an actual reason to keep playing and complete them.
It could be especially interesting if larger rewards required more XP, while smaller rewards could be earned relatively quickly. This would give Achievement XP a real purpose without removing the value of achievements themselves.
Overall, I think an Achievement XP reward system would make Epic Games’ achievement system much more engaging and give players another reason to play and complete the games they own.
