[Suggestion] External render workflow

I was thinking here… Wouldn’t it be good for UE4 the integration with external renderers? Cycles, for example, is open-source, right? Maybe it would be “easy” to make Cycles to render UE’s lightmaps.
This way, Epic Games could focus GI development on dynamic solutions and let static solutions to other render engines. Is this a good idea?

Thank you very much for your suggestion regarding an external render workflow. Unfortunately, that suggestion wouldn’t work well with UE4 considering that system is built around the rendering structure in lightmapping and lightmass. We appreciate your feedback.
