I have a few ideas for updates to the accolade device that I want to share:
I think you should be able to set the Accolade Tier. This is the amount of stars above the icon that can be seen in Battle Royale when earning a big accolade. By default this value will be 0 which just makes it so no stars appear. You can set this value all the way up to 10. Example here:
Boss Elimination - Tier 0
Top 50 - Tier 1
Top 25 - Tier 2
Top 10 - Tier 3
Top 5 - Tier 4
Top 3 - Tier 5
I also think there should be more accolade popup types, like the XP Medals from chapter 2 or the XP Bar at the bottom if that were to be readded. XP Medal Variants would Include their own Tiers, which can be set to Bronze, Silver, or Gold.
I am also thinking maybe having a way to submit a request to Epic to set fixed values for your accolades, similarly to Battle Royale. Submitting these requests would have an Epic Moderator or Developer take a look at how the accolades are rewarded and decide whether your proposed values seem reasonable for their respective accolade, and if accepted, can set a limit on them. Examples below:
