Thanks i’ve been looking for this.

Hi ,

Any idea on when the plugin will be able to be exported at build time without the need of first copying the folder over to the project folder?

Hello. I just used Substance Material for the first time and i got problem or… i dont know. Substance Material Response time is pretty slow. Not just 1 or 2 seconds response its taking 10 or 15 seconds to take change. Is it supposed to do this or am i doing something wrong?
in youtube tutorial UE4 getting instant result when changing material values like roughness, color dirt etc.
im on 4.8
------------EDIT------------------
Nevermind! i just found the solution. Thank you for this awesome plugin. It works perfect!
if some one wondering about this problem. Watch this video :

Hi ,

I’m not sure entirely what you mean. Are you talking about publishing builds?

i am having trouble packaging projects with the plugin enabled. i even tried with a blank BP project. as soon as i disable the plugin the project will package properly.

Hi ,

What happens if you add a C++ file to your project?

The C++ file doesn’t have to do anything, it just needs to exist.

I don’t know what is going on.

if i have a blueprint only project with the substance plugin enabled and i try and cook content or package then it fails. then if i disable the substance plugin and restart the editor it will cook and package fine.

if i then try and add a c++ file with the substance plugin disabled or enabled the cook or package will fail. this is confusing me and not making any sense.

if i create a blank c++ project and try to cook content or package it will fail with the substance plugin enabled or disabled.

so i don’t know if it is an engine issue or a plugin issue? i am totally confused now.

the only way i can package a project or cook content is with a blueprint only project with the substance plugin disabled?

can someone else do a couple of tests and see if they are getting the same results.

Hi ,

Are you using the UE 4.8 engine from the Epic Games app, or are you compiling from source, such as github?

i am using the launcher version in this case.

Yes. I haven’t tried publishing yet with the plugin installed via launcher, so I’ll check that; however, previously, you needed the plugin installed in both the Engine folder as well as the Game folder in order for a plugin to be compiled with the game correctly. If the plugin was not located in the Game folder, it would give the Substance Core missing error.

Hi ,

The recommended way to use the plugin now is to just have it in the Game/ folder, not the Engine/ folder. This is assuming you are downloading the plugin via our website and not using the Unreal MarketPlace.
