Sub object (element) selection in modeling tools?

Maybe I am missing something but when checking 5.6 new modeling toolbar element selection there is still no sub object (element) selection. I am talking when I import lets say a door static mesh I want to be able to select a handle to autoUV just that it element. I don’t see sub object element selection in these tools at all. There is no such selection in UV editor neither. Am I missing something or is it an omission.

Just like lack of bake to channels in “bake textures” that exists in bake vertex or the fact that the bug requiring to select preset twice in a row for its settings to load still exists. Actually marking preset as default would be nice. Two out of 3 UV unwrappers seem to be dual core at best. Lack of interesting stuff to bake in vertex channels, random grey color per element? Tools seem to be standing in place a bit.
