If you have trouble on blank project then follow instructions

“Failed to connect to beacon” upon launching session - General / Issues and Bug Reporting - Epic Developer Community Forums

if this is still failing then the personal install path is corrupted

  • please clear the following directory and try again.

%LOCALAPPDATA%/UnrealEditorFortnite

The directories will be created for the latest version
