Hey everyone,
I’m working on a little environment scene in Unreal Engine 5 and I’m really struggling with lighting issues to make the scene space not look so flat, in addition to shadows feeling either too strong or completely gone, especially when I move the camera. I am using Lumen and working with dynamic lighting, and I want to get real good lighting for the scene space - I have even adjusted exposure, Skylight and nothing gives me a real look
I’m not using baked lighting as I want to keep it all dynamic, but I’m struggling to find the right balance between performance and visual quality. I’ve watched some tutorials on lighting in UE5, but some are outdated or did not show critical steps. I would love help from anyone if you could explain best practices, or direct me to updated resources to help with lighting in UE5, particularly in outdoor environments.
Thanks in advance! I’m learning as a I go and would love to find out more about lighting workflows that do help with real-world projects.
Has anyone else struggled with this in UE5? What worked for you?
