Stretching During Animation Previews

Hey everyone, thanks in advance for any help.

I’ve been working on creating animations for the last couple of days and everything has been going fine until I ran into this stretching issue with my mesh.

It appears there’s some type of pin or something that’s keeping the skin/mesh of the character pinned to this specific location and I really am at a loss on how to fix it. I really honestly could not tell you what I did to change this other than at one point I clicked edit skeleton when I was looking for my socket and I think I may have edited the weights or something on accident.

Everything had been going smoothly right up until that moment. After that, my character’s legs were stretching in the PIE and his body was stretching too. I found a video that suggested to go into the skeleton tree and modify the Translation Retargeting for all of the bones. So, I changed all the normal bones back to Skeleton except pelvis (per the video) is Animation Scaled. After that, I made sure all of the ik bones are Animation.

That fixed the character showing up stretched in the PIE except I’m no longer able to make new animations.

Really frustrating and hard blocker here. Any help is very much appreciated.

For anyone else coming across this thread, I wish I could tell you what happened and why it’s working now. In the past, because I’ve been burned, I’ve created duplicates of important assets like skeletons. In this case, the duplicate was only messed up with the issue I mentioned earlier about retargeting to “Skeleton” instead of “Animation”.

So, fortunately for me, I was able to use that skeleton instead (and create a duplicate of IT!)… The only thing I found by myself on this topic was the “ik_hand_gun” bone name seems to be what is causing this issue. However, when I deleted these bones it’s still happening so I’m not sure what’s going on there.
