Strange squarish solid colors appears on screen for a second then disappears

Hi,

In 5.3, 5.4 and 5.5 (I couldn’t test with older version) I noticed that in my project, every now and then some squarish bloomed artifacts appears on the screen.

I’m using DirectX 11 (tried even with DX12 just because, still nothing) , no DLSS / FSR, no plugins, no ray-tracing, no lumen, etc.
Simple directional and 4/5 spots scattered in the map. So not many things.

This issue happens both in editor and build and, something particular, I noticed it’s something which happens only with the RTX graphics card

This was tested with 8-9 graphics cards (GTX and RTX), old and newer driver (also tried to change game to studio driver)

So far, no luck finding what’s the cause.

Does anyone have any clues?

r.bloom 0

in console command

I could use

r.BloomQuality 0, as r.bloom doesn’t exist

But that doesn’t really solve the issue as it is not that the problem

Those square appears and go away in a second or so
The issue is related to the appearing of those squares, which shouldn’t exist in the first place

We had this happen a couple years back. We were working on an ArchViz interactive park for a city. Our culprit was the glass material on the basketball hoop backboard. Ours was black, no emissive. It even showed up faintly when rendering out stills at 64 subsamples . I can’t recall exactly what I changed within the glass material but it went away and never came back.
