Strange offset to mouse cursor

This is UE4.26, Shipped package run through Steam store.

I have one person this is affecting and I can’t duplicate the issue, nor are any of my other players having this problem, so I’m struggling to try and figure it out.

I have a player who, when going through a menu in a widget (any widget), is unable to actually click the button his cursor is hovering over. It seems to actually click below the button and into whatever is in that spot below. Like there’s a strange offset to the mouse.

I’m totally at a loss over this.

He’s using a dell G5 SE laptop, fairly typical screen resolution. His menu looks normal from the screenshots, but the cursor hovers over the top button while the button below it is clearly highlighted as though hovered. If he clicks, the button below (not the one the cursor is actually on) gets clicked instead.

Prior to this happening, when he loaded up the game yesterday he had a ‘D3D device lost’ crash. I figured it was probably an outdated GPU driver. He updated his driver and the crash issue was gone, but now this is happening. He then launched the game successfully, but after entering the pause/settings menu was unable to leave it . He said it locked his cursor completely.
I’ve tested it exhaustively and no other players are having this problem.

Things checked/done:
Windows taskbar is located at default location at the bottom of the screen
Display resolution zoom is at %100
Fresh update of GPU drivers
Restarted PC

Any ideas?

Hello RianeN, Is it full screen or not?

Hello!

We’ve tried both in fullscreen and windowed mode.

He also completely reinstalled the game.

The issue seems to happen every time the player hits escape to close a menu. I’m baffled because nobody else is experiencing this. I’ve asked three other players to try and replicate it, and I’ve tried it myself. I’ve tried windowed mode as well as fullscreen.

Would really appreciate some help.

Still looking for some help on this.

To add, I made sure the player has no external monitors connected and no controller. The mouse is a usb mouse (generic logitech) and the laptop touchpad is disabled.

Any updates on this issue?

Had the exact same problem (only that my offset was in the opposite direction, but after verifying file integrity on the steam page, it worked again.
